A dream come true

As most of you know a few months ago Don went on a business trip to a town outside the Oakland/San Francisco and while he was there he was reunited with his father.  It was always my husbands biggest wish for as long as I have known him. One of those deep down wants that you never know whether it will ever come to fruition. Over the past few months Don has kept in touch with his father through email and phone calls.  Also along the way he has been in touch with one of his uncles and his grandparents as well.  It has been a wonderful few months of reunions.  Don even attended for the 1st time his Small family reunion!

The week of Thanksgiving we had the pleasure of having his father come for visit.  It was such a fun week to see Don and his dad together.  They are very similar despite the miles between them. It was such an amazing thing to see them interact with each other and with the grandbabies.  Ashlynn became very attached with her grandpa and I do believe the feeling was mutual.  Everett enjoyed playing with his grandpa but for the 1st few days I believe he was a bit confused he kept staring at his dad and grandpa (maybe because they look so much alike).  The week was so much fun and we enjoyed having Thanksgiving with his dad and grandparents. The week ended with father and son decorating the outside, inside, and Christmas tree with lights and ornaments.  It was touching to see them work so well together.   Thanksgiving week was truly a dream come true for Don and his dad ;-) .
