I was supposed to do this last night but I passed out before I got the chance to post. I wanted to do a flashback Friday. I wanted to do a flashback to our wedding and where our life together was started especially since the blog is so new. However, we met and started dating more than 4 years before we ever said I do. I really debated about what to do for Flashback Friday but as you will read my day yesterday really solidified my idea.
Yesterday was a very busy day. It was only supposed to be lunch with a very good friend, but then I needed to go to Rocky Mount. Of course what is a trip to Rocky Mount without stopping by and visiting Don at work. Everyone who works in IS with Don are in love with the kids. I only had Everett yesterday and I think he really enjoyed all of the attention and M&M's. Well it was so late when we visited Don that we decided what is a visit to Rocky Mount without dinner. So we stopped for a date night. Everett is still so small that we can still have a decent date night even if he tags along. It is so nice to get a nice dinner and some time shopping with Don. Little man was an angel as always which made the night even better. To end the evening we had a nice but very rare treat of Dunkin' Doughnuts. On the ride home I got the opportunity to listen to the Focus on the Family radio program.
The broadcast last night was Kirk Cameron and his wife Chelsea talking about love and marriage. It was such a great broadcast that stepped on my toes. They really brought up some great point on things I need to work on in our marriage. The biggest point I took from the broadcast was the line Chelsea Cameron said " I can't be a better mother than I am a wife." I think all too often my priorities are skewed. The broadcast also helped me remember how much more in love I am with Don now than I was over 8 years ago when we met. I never thought that was possible on our Wedding day! I never thought I could love him anymore than I did in that moment and boy was I wrong.
Below are the 2 links to the radio broadcast I listened to last night.

Chick-Fil-A and a Challenge
I am not sure why but today was a Murphy's Law kinda day. If something could go wrong it went wrong today. However, l can say that lunch with my mom and sister at Chick-Fil-A was great. I am really loving the spicy chicken sandwich although I don't think Everett was too fond of the sandwich. I don't think he is going to have the same love for spicy food that his sister has. Ash loves chick-fil-a because they have the best play place and dip dip and I love having lunch with anyone over the age of 3 :) I am sure my other SAHM's can relate.
On another topic I wanted to extend a challenge to all my friends especially my married girlfriends although everyone can benefit from this challenge. I am reading 1 chapter of Proverbs each day for the month of October. Now I have done this on a month of 31 days in the past. My prayer lately has been to ask God to help me become more like the Proverbs 31 woman. Proverbs 31 is like a handbook for the married woman, well women in general. It is my own little handbook to help guide me into being the wife God wants me to be. So I am very excited that Halloween will be Proverbs chapter 31. So I kind of see it as my own personal treat!!! So I challenge my other friends to join me in reading a chapter a day of Proverbs this month.

Sidewalk Chalk by any other name...
We have had some word confusion is the Small household today. Ashlynn as she was eating her lunch proclaimed she wanted to play "drunk". I was quite upset by this proclamation and wanted to know where she heard such a word. I know she didn't hear it from Don or myself. She again explains that she wants to go outside since it is a pretty day and play drunk. So I go through a list a words I think she might mean. I asked was she talking about the car trunk or was she calling the dog a chunk (long story)? No she wants to go outside and play drunk and so does little buddy.
By this time she is aggravated with me because I don't seem to understand what she is asking. She explains mommy don't you remember when miss Libby came over with Eva and Chole and we all got a color and went to the garage floor and played drunk. OOOH you mean play with chalk. Yes mommy can we play with drunk. So now we have worked on the proper word and she now knows that its CHALK and not drunk. Especially since I really don't want her to go to preschool, church, or someones house for a play date and ask to play drunk. That might not look too good!
